Furnace Installation in Fairfield, WA
We replace worn-out furnaces with equipment sized to your home, vented properly and set up to run quietly through long, cold winters. You get a written quote before any work begins, a clean install day and a system tested before we leave.
A new furnace, installed with care
A furnace is one of the few appliances in your home that runs for months without a break. When it reaches the end of its life, the choice of unit matters, but the installation matters just as much. Correct sizing, gas pressure, venting and airflow settings decide how warm the rooms feel and how long the equipment lasts.
Many homes around Fairfield heat with propane rather than natural gas, and a fair number are older houses that have been added onto over the years. We look at how your home is actually built before recommending anything, so the furnace you buy fits the space it has to heat.
Estimates are free on installations and replacements. If your current furnace can still be repaired sensibly, we will tell you that instead, and our furnace repair service can take it from there.

What a furnace installation includes
- 01
Load calculation
We measure rooms, note windows and insulation, and work out how much heat your home really loses. That number sets the furnace size, not the label on the old unit.
- 02
Equipment matched to your fuel
We install natural gas and propane furnaces, including the conversion kit a propane unit needs. Single-stage, two-stage and variable-speed models are all options, and we explain the difference in comfort and noise.
- 03
Venting done to code
Standard-efficiency furnaces vent through a lined chimney or metal flue. High-efficiency condensing furnaces use sealed PVC venting and a condensate drain, which we route and protect from freezing.
- 04
Gas, electrical and thermostat connections
We connect the gas line with a new shutoff and sediment trap, test for leaks, wire the unit and set up a thermostat that suits the furnace's staging.
- 05
Removal and cleanup
The old furnace leaves with us. We protect floors along the path in and out, and the mechanical area is left swept and tidy.
Questions about Furnace Installation?
Call(509) 707-8588Signs it may be time to replace your furnace
Age past 15 to 20 years
Most furnaces wear out somewhere in this range. Parts get harder to find, and efficiency falls well behind current models.
Repairs every season
If you are calling for an igniter one winter and an inducer motor the next, the repair money is often better spent on a new unit.
A cracked heat exchanger
This is the part that keeps combustion gases out of the air you breathe. A confirmed crack is usually the end of a furnace, and we will show you photos of what we find.
Rooms that never warm up
Cold bedrooms and a short-cycling furnace can point to an undersized or failing unit. A load calculation tells us which.
Fuel bills creeping up
Rising propane or gas use with no change in habits often means the burner and blower are losing efficiency.
How the work goes
- 1
Visit and written quote
We inspect the current furnace, venting and gas supply, run the load calculation and walk you through options. Every line of the job goes on paper, and nothing is touched until you have that quote in hand.
- 2
Permit and scheduling
Filing the mechanical permit is our job, and the install day is set around your calendar. If your home is without heat while you wait, our emergency HVAC repair service can keep the old unit going.
- 3
Install day
Most replacements take one day. We shut off gas and power, remove the old unit, set the new furnace, make the venting and gas connections, and wire the thermostat.
- 4
Startup and testing
We check gas pressure, temperature rise and combustion readings, then run the furnace through full cycles. Before we leave, we show you the filter, the shutoff and the thermostat settings.
- 5
Inspection
We arrange the required inspection and meet the inspector so you do not have to manage it.
What affects the cost of a new furnace
Every installation is priced from what we find at your home, so the quote is written after the visit. These are the details that move the number most.
- Efficiency rating
- A 95 percent condensing furnace costs more up front and needs PVC venting and a drain. It also burns noticeably less fuel over a long heating season.
- Staging and blower type
- Two-stage and variable-speed furnaces run longer at lower output, which evens out temperatures and quiets the system. They cost more than single-stage units.
- Fuel and venting changes
- Switching to a condensing furnace can leave a water heater alone in an old chimney, which may then need a liner. Propane units also need a conversion kit.
- Access to the space
- A furnace in a roomy basement is simpler than one in a tight closet, crawlspace or attic. Harder access means more labor.
- Permit and gas line work
- Permit fees and any upgrades to the gas piping or shutoff needed to meet current code are listed separately on your quote.
Furnace installation questions
How long does a furnace replacement take?
A straightforward swap is usually done in one day. Changing from a standard furnace to a condensing model, or working in a tight attic or crawlspace, can push it into a second day. We tell you which to expect when we write the quote.
Is a high-efficiency furnace worth it here?
For most homes with long heating seasons, yes, especially on propane where fuel costs add up. The extra venting work can change that math in some houses, so we price both options side by side and let you decide.
Do I need a permit to replace a furnace?
Yes. A furnace replacement requires a mechanical permit and an inspection. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and handle the details.
Should I consider a heat pump instead?
It depends on your home and fuel. Many homeowners pair a heat pump with a furnace so the heat pump handles mild days and the furnace takes over in deep cold. Our heat pumps page explains how that works, and we can quote both.
My furnace just quit in January. Can you still help?
Yes. Our emergency HVAC repair is available around the clock, and a night or weekend visit carries no extra charge for the hour. The first goal is getting heat back. If the furnace cannot be saved, we plan the replacement from there.
